Welcome to my home page. The picture above shows me steering our narrowboat along the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal, on a holiday in summer 2002. Canal boating is one of the passions of my life.
However, as you can probably tell from the menu on the left, my site contains a variety of other subjects.
The big event of 2003 was walking Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk, from one side of England to the other. Not on the narrowest bit either: a full 190 miles. The route covers hilly areas in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors. Three National Parks in all, and was a superb walk.
You are welcome to read my Coast to Coast diary.
I have recently become interested in stereoscopic photography (you may know it as 3D). You can read a bit about it on my stereo page, and find out about my free View double Firefox browser extension that allows you to view parallel stereoscopic images with crossed-eyes or vice versa.
Here is a picture of me in parallel-view stereo.
One of my hobbies is messing about with video editing on the PC. I have written my own video editor, Clip!, which you may download and use for nothing.
Since I own a Toshiba SD220E DVD player, I have produced a patched version of VCDImager which resolves the sound synchronisation issues with this player when producing Super Video CDs (SVCDs). This is suitable for those people who use VCDEasy, a highly recommended tool, to produce SVCDs.
I have also included AVIInfo a small utility which can provide information about AVI files, and also preview them. It can be conveniently invoked from a right-click in a Windows Explorer window.
I live in Binley Woods, a small village on the outskirts of Coventry, in England, and you can read some pages that tell you about the place.
Also, you can find out about the Binley Woods Board Walkers our local drama group. In the past I have played the piano for them, although I am not involved in their latest production.
